DFPCL result for first quarter of 2003
21 July, 2003
DFPCL's profit after tax (PAT) for the first quarter of the current year has gone up by 25% as compared to that of the previous year. While lower fertiliser and chemical trading volume brought the top line figure lower at Rs. 110.78 crores as against Rs. 130.66 crores the Company had been able to improve PAT to Rs. 13.16 crores from Rs. 10.52 crores this Q1 due to better performance of Industrial Chemicals. The performance of fertiliser segment was affected due to changes in Government policies on price concession scheme and inadequate gas supply. It is expected that large gas finds in KG basin and LNG imports will improve availability of gas in future to enable plant operation at full capacity levels.
