First mover of Speciality Mall Concept - 500,000 sq.ft slated for Interiors / Exteriors

Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited announced at the Indian Institute of Interior Designers' Design Sutra 2003 their plans to build a Global Speciality Mall focused on to a wide range of products and services to help build beautiful urban spaces.
With the first mover advantage, the Company will kick off its venture, coined, Ishanya in Pune, India's first Global Speciality Mall for Interior and Exterior Spaces to serve the exponentially growing commercial and residential property market in Western India.
Pune, in view of its central proximity to Mumbai, a well as other cities of Maharashtra became an ideal choice as a location.
Ishanya, the Global Speciality Mall is spread over a lavish five lakh sq.ft housed in 10 acres will offer Indian consumers for the first time the unparalleled convenience to choose from a staggering range of National and International product and service brands - all under one roof to build every kind of urban space be it offices, homes, restaurants, malls or multiplexes.
Ishanya will also house leading national and international architects and interior design firms, consulting engineers and other service providers. In addition, it will retail a plethora of products from glazing, flooring, furniture, furnishing, hi-tech consumer electronic white goods, lighting and acoustics, reaching upto art and sculpture. Ishanya has been exclusively endorsed by the IIID and IIA, the premier bodies of architects and interior designers in India, as `Concept Collaborators'.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Sailesh Mehta, Managing Director of DFPCL said, "Our market research revealed that at present with scattered availability there was a strong fundamental demand for holistic approach to design and development from both property owners and the industry professions alike. Ishanya has been conceived to fulfill this long felt need for integrated solutions to property development and enhancement." Adding further he said, "Till date there exists no single retail space in the country with a range and depth of choice showcasing the entire gamut of products and services required by the property and interiors industry".
DFPCL plants to invest around Rs.100 crore in this venture as a part of its well conceived diversification strategy to enter the booming services sector.
Mr. Kamal Malik, Architect of Ishanya "Till date, no project has been created which can serve as a common ground for designers, architects, engineers and artisans. Ishanya - will serve this purpose by encouraging a dialogue among these disciplines, thereby providing a spark to creativity as also leading to a more integrated approach to the design process. This will also provide a forum for sharing global practices in the field of designing.
