Shapoorji Pallonji Awarded "Ishanya" Contract

The contract for the civil construction of the India's first Speciality Design Centre and Mall, "ISHANYA", has been awarded to Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd., one of India's best-known names in the construction industry. This is a time bound contract with a bonus clause for early completion and severe penalties for delay.

Ishanya is promoted by Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corp. Ltd., among India's most respected industrial houses. Ishanya is to be located near Pune's airport and opposite the Golf course. The Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID) is a concept collaborator, while the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is a concept partner to Ishanya.

Some of India's top construction companies had competed for the contract that was eventually won by Shapoorji Pallonji.  Mr. D V Marathe, General Manager, Shapoorji Pallonji, said that the company, was particularly pleased to have been awarded this contract as this prestigious project is expected to become the pan-India hub for the architecture and designer community. The design architect for the Ishanya project is Kamal S Malik, who is well-known for his creative and intricate designs. Ishanya's campus-like spread over a 10 acre plot will, therefore, be the ideal opportunity for Shahpoorji Pallonji to showcase their capabilities in all areas of construction, Mr. Marathe said.

Ishanya is a specially targeted Design Centre and Mall for building exteriors and interiors. A British Design and Architecture firm based in Dubai, Consultancy Services International (CSI) as Consultant Architect has brought in their vast experience on Mall Design, which has translated into Ishanya being a world class, state-of-the-art Design Center.

Ishanya's offering will include a range of products and services from some of the biggest names in the Indian and global architecture, interior design, home décor, construction and other related industries. Besides retail spaces, it will offer a convention center, exhibition halls, an amphitheater, a building center, art galleries, business center, etc. Fine Dining restaurant options will also be available through the day. By evenings, the Speciality Design Centre and Mall will convert into Pune's cultural hub with the facilities being used as a centre for social and cultural activity. All these facilities, will be marketed though intensive events and other direct marketing activity in order to ensure the right quality and quantity of footfalls to provide both consumers and its business partners with an unmatched value for money proposition.
