Deepak Fert ties up isopropyl alcohol tech

Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals will manufacture isopropyl alcohol at its Taloja plant, under a seven-year technology tie-up with Equistar-Lyondell. The product is currently being imported. DFPCL will set up a 70,000 metric tonne per annum brownfield facility at Taloja, which will help reduce costs through shared utilities, S C Mehta, managing director, told reporters. The project will see mechanical completion of the plant by the end of calendar year '05.
