(Article first published in Business Standard, 21st October 2005)

Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation witnessed a decline of 9.3 per cent in profit after tax to Rs 14.5 crore in the July-September 2005 quarter, down from Rs 16 crore from the same period last year.

The profit before tax was down from Rs 24 crore to Rs 21 crore. Net sales saw a growth of 7 per cent from Rs 104 to Rs 111 crore.

The decline in production was attributed to the temporary stoppage of operations due of flooding in western Maharashtra during the fourth week of July 2005.
