Notes

1. The Government of India is yet to notify final subsidy on fertiliser for the current year and hence the amount of subsidy is based on provisional figures.

2. In view of continued lower capacity utilisation of Dilute Nitric Acid Plant (third stream), the policy for providing depreciation is changed retrospectively in respect of this plant from straight line basis to written value basis to accelerate charge thereof. This has resulted in incremental depreciation of earlier years shown as an extra ordinary item, higher depreciation for the quarter by Rs. 25 lacs and net reduction in profit after tax by Rs. 595 lacs.

3. The above unaudited financial results for the quarter ended 30th June, 2003 were reviewed by the Statutory Auditors of the Company.

4. There were no investor complaints pending at the beginning of the quarter. During the quarter, 63 complaints were received, out of which 62 complaints were disposed off. The balance one complaint regarding issue of duplicate share certificate was pending for want of completion of formalities by the concerned shareholder.

5. The above unaudited financial results were considered and taken on record by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on 21st July, 2003.
