Notes

1. Government of India has notified the subsidy for the period April, 2003 to December, 2003 by circular dated 16th January, 2004 and impact of the same has been considered in the unaudited results for quarter as well as nine months ended 31st December, 2003.

2. Extraordinary items for the quarter ended 31st December, 2003 is on account of settlement of a legal case.

3. During the quarter under review, the Company has acquired the majority shareholding of Smartchem Technologies Limited (STL) resulting in STL becoming subsidiary of the Company. STL has facilities to manufacture 32,200 TPA of Dilute Nitric Acid and 36,000 TPA of high quality Prilled Ammonium Nitrate based on world renowned Norsk Hydro Technology at its plant near Visakhapatnam.

4. The availability of main raw material ,namely Natural Gas, during the nine months ended 31st December, 2003, has been lower by 20% as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year ,severely affecting the production.

5. There was no investor complaint pending at the beginning of the quarter. The Company, during the quarter, received five investor complaints, which have been resolved.

6. The above-unaudited financial results for the quarter and nine months ended 31st December, 2003 were reviewed by the Statutory Auditors of the Company.

7. The above unaudited financial results were considered and taken on record by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on 23rd January, 2004.
